2024 Songs You’ll NEED For Your Minneapolis Wedding

I can’t believe it’s already September! With summer 2024 drawing to a close, we can finally step back and take a look at all the music that’s been released so far this year. As Minneapolis continues to be a hub for vibrant weddings, staying updated on the most requested songs of 2024 will ensure your big day feels both personal and on-trend. And let me tell you, this year has produced several tracks that I believe will stay in rotation for years to come. From pop to hip-hop to country, these are the definitive 2024 songs your guests will be dying to hear.

A Bar Song (Tipsy) - Shaboozy

Country crossovers have been all the rage throughout the 2020s. It all began with Old Town Road by Lil Nas X in 2019, the longest-charting number-one song of all time on Billboard. Lil Nas X paved the way for many others to follow, starting with Morgan Wallen, then Jelly Roll, followed by Post Malone, and now here comes Shaboozy. Shaboozy is no stranger to the country crossover trend, but this is his first brush with true mainstream success, having held the number-one spot on Billboard longer than any other track this year.

Is recession-era pop back? As the country is once again thrust into another turbulent election year, it’s the perfect time for a song like A Bar Song (Tipsy) to bring us all together to sing along and forget about our problems.

Expresso - Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is on a roll this year. As a DJ, I can say I’ve had so many of her tracks requested by people of all ages. She is truly the next big thing in pop music. Since debuting on Disney Channel, her star has continued to rise, and now I hear Expresso at nearly every event I’m at—and I’m not complaining.

Expresso is a beautiful, albeit slightly confusing, song where Carpenter sings about her love of coffee (I think). I’m not entirely sure what a drink has to do with the song’s deeper meaning, but it’s catchy nonetheless. Definitely a great track for your big day—10/10.

Good Luck, Babe! - Chappell Roan

Is it just me, or did Chappell Roan come out of nowhere? Don’t get me wrong, I’m here for it. It’s just been a while since we’ve seen a pop artist shake up the genre like this. With the help of TikTok, Chappell has consistently stayed on our feeds and in our playlists for the last few months, and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.

I’ve been listening to Good Luck, Babe! outside of DJing, which is how I know I really like an artist. There’s something about her—she just has it. Start practicing your “HOT TO GO!” routine now, and I’ll see you at my next event!

Not Like Us - Kendrick Lamar

Do I even need to explain the pop culture moment that was the Kendrick and Drake beef earlier this year? Probably not, as we all witnessed it. Kendrick has been all over the internet—and his hometown—taking jabs at Canada’s own. You’ve heard the tracks, you’ve seen the memes. The allegations made against Drake are serious, and potentially career-ending, which makes the choice to call him out over a DJ Mustard beat all the more unexpected. I’ve never heard rap beef this catchy.

Kendrick’s next stop is Super Bowl LIX, where he’ll presumably bring this track with him. I’m eagerly anticipating his performance, but until then, I look forward to hearing this at my next wedding.

I Had Some Help - Post Malone (feat. Morgan Wallen)

Speaking of Post Malone and Morgan Wallen, see how this all comes full circle? I’m ready to claim 2024 as the year of country music. This year saw the release of Posty’s latest album, F-1 Trillion, his first venture into the country genre. The Circles singer teamed up with a variety of country all-stars throughout the tracklist. So, it’s no surprise that for the biggest song on the LP, Post Malone had some help from country superstar Morgan Wallen.

Even if you aren’t big on country there’s no way you’ve managed to go this whole summer without hearing this track. I would even be willing to bet you’ve had it stuck in your head too.
